Being an on line business we do not often get the opportunity to meet customers face to face. However as we were visiting family over the Christmas period I took the opportunity to pop in to see Phil and fit his new wheels to his bike. Shortly afterwards he sent us these kind words.

Wow they are stunning!! I have ‘offered’ them up to the Jones just to see how everything fits and…perfect. I’ve got a bit of work to do on my riding position but it’s not a million miles out.

Being tall at 6'4 and a little over 100kg I have been getting through more than my fair share of spokes and bent wheels. Looking for something stronger led me to PT Cycles. I had a set of stock wheels fail on me one week before a Whistler trip. PT Cycles stepped up and sorted me a set of Hope Pro 4 hubs laced to Stan’s Flow MK3 rims at short notice. I put over 7000m of vertical decent through these wheels every day for 2 weeks (7x the height of Everest!!) without so much as loose spoke - a testament to the craftsmanship of the build. Should I ever need any further wheels builds I will only ever return to PT Cycles. A joy to deal with. Professional and reliable.

The wheels arrived safely thanks. As I said I was in Wales at BPW and they felt incredible. I changed the front tyre to a Magic Mary and it felt that i was planted the whole time going around berms and drops. "Just back from a week in Gran Canaria and couldn't be happier with my new Pacenti Forza/Hope RS4/CX ray wheelset - an upgrade to the stock wheels on my Cannondale Synapse Ultegra. Whether they are faster or not it's difficult to say but they certainly FEEL faster. I'm a heavier guy (88kg) and it seems that I've gone from wheels that continually creak under stress to a piece of precision engineering that's somehow rounder, smoother and stiffer (silent!). I'm loving riding a quiet bike and the wheels look great too. The service/assistance from Paul, both pre and post sale, was outstanding - I will be back!"

Received my Pacenti rims built on DT Swiss 350 hubs with Sapim CX Ray spokes today. The weather here in Cornwall is atrocious but that did not deter me from fitting them to my Cannondale synapse and riding over 60k on a typical hilly Cornish loop. I was chuffed at how stiff they are and picked up some nice PR's on Strava that I haven't got near for several yrs so testament in the quality of this wheelset.
They have been so patient with me going through the process for the first time and I cannot fault their customer service and the build quality of my new wheels. I have purchased factory wheels up to buying these and will ride handbuilts from now on.

After giving his new wheelset a thorough shakedown Frantisek from near Paris posted on his Facebook page "I was looking to get a custom built wheelset with a dynamo hub for a new touring bike I was building. I ran into PT Cycles while randomly Googling. Turned out they did not have what I wanted on their list; still I reached out to them and they replied very quickly and helped a lot".
Not only could they get me my hub but they also had great advice for the rim and great communication all along. I received my wheels very quickly, at a very good price. The wheels seem very well built and the rim tape has been put on very thoroughly which made mounting tubeless Schwalbe tyres very easy.
The dynamo hub in front creates electricity and the Hope hub has its typical Hope-freewheel-sound that makes it so cool. Been riding my newly built commuter/tourer for a few days now and couldn't be happier (not only the wheels admittedly, the overall bike is really cool).
So great job from PT Cycles!

Following the inaugural ride on his new road wheels (DT350/Pacenti SL23), Paul from the South West emailed us and said . . .
"Just been for the first spin on the new wheels. Wow! Did about 25 miles across West Devon with 2000 feet of climbing, gradients up to 20%. It felt like I was on a new bike! The wheels are really responsive on the hills but with the extra width and a bit less pressure there is some give on poor road surfaces. Going downhill it was wet and muddy but I felt really secure with lots of control from the really good braking surfaces. All in all a happy customer".

After putting his new 'gravel' wheelset through its paces, John from the HANGAR111 Team has posted this review. We think it's fair to say he likes them!
We will shortly be relocating from our temporary operating base in Falmouth to Aberdeenshire. This is the final piece of the jigsaw in our move from Spain back to the UK.
During this time there will be a short period when our wheel building operation is suspended. We will however still be taking orders and talking to customers both via telephone and email.
If you are looking to place an order in the very near future then we would advise you to do so ASAP as we will be suspending our workshop operation from Friday 1st September, with a planned resumption date of Monday 9th October. Any orders taken after 1st September will be placed in our build queue and fulfilled on a āfirst come, first servedā basis once we are up and running again.
